I got a DUI 30 miles away from Kenai at the Kenai lake in 2011 when I was homeless and I went to jail for it. The fees were too expensive after I got out of jail so I moved. I tried getting a drivers license in another state this year and wasn't able to. I've been trying to find out how to serve the rest of the DUI in this state that isn't alaska but no one will tell me how.
I hope I don't have to pay for a lawyer
...like how I didn't have to pay for one when I went to jail. I also have a warrant in Anchorage burrough for stealing a bike. I just want to know how to serve these offenses in Colorado without having to go to Alaska which I can't even do without being homeless first. I also have pets and don't know or trust anyone to take care of them for that long. I would have to give my pets to someone, stop living in this subsidized apartment, then when I come back to Colorado I would have to be homeless and wait for another subsidized apartment to live in which is usually about a year. I wouldn't be able to have my pets if I was homeless. I really don't think anyone on SSI for being mentally disabled with this amount would think it is that worth it. Thank you
