I was referred to an attorney in Terrell, TX, in 2016. He was solo practice without any staff.
This was a simple civil case involving damages sustained by me against a moving company. The moving company damaged and stole many items. Extensive proof was provided to the attorney. This attorney vanished numerous times for the next 6 years of representation. He committed many other negligent things. The State Bar of TX ruled that he committed Professional Misconduct against me from 2016-2022. This attorney has sued me for Breach of Contract and is demanding that I pay him $26,000 for his attorney's fees during those 6 years. Question: Is an attorney eligible for his attorney's fees while committing Professional Misconduct?
